KABLAMとYour Planet is NextによるComputer Stationの来日公演が開催

3/28 京都West Harlem

ベルリンを拠点とする悪名高いパーティー〈Janus〉のレジデンツをWhy BeやLotic等と共に務め、mobilegirl、Coucou Chloe、estoc等のリミックスワークでも知られるKABLAMと、Opal TapesやメキシコのTerminalからのリリースで知られるYour Planet Is Nextのデュエット=Computer Stationの初来日公演がntankとKazumichi Komatsuによる共同イベント「Perty」にて開催。

Computer Station:

Utter and complete frog frenzy as Computer Station take you on a ribbeting ride, leaping right into a lily-pad-laden wonderland where the basslines forever croak in unison. Computer Station is the collaborative project between Your Planet Is Next and KABLAM. Together they reimagine sub genres of electronic dance music and explore areas where their styles intersect, such as UK rave, breakbeat, jungle, IDM, EBM and ghetto house. Their debut EP “Froggystyle” was released in 2024 on Stockholm label Studio Barnhus. Computerized rhythms, obscure frogtronic samples and not a bpm count under 149 will guarantee a proper splash in the pond!

KABLAM:

KABLAM is a producer and composer based in Stockholm. She started her career as a DJ in 2013, and is perhaps best known as one of the residents of Berlin’s infamous Janus party alongside co-residents M.E.S.H. and Lotic. In 2016 Janus published KABLAM’s debut EP titled Furiosa. In 2019 the artist self-released her 13-track debut album Confusía, followed by a remix EP in 2020. She has since produced remixes for and collaborated with mobilegirl, Coucou Chloe, Osheyack, estoc, DJ Babatr and more. In 2023 KABLAM released her third EP, titled Music 1-3. In 2024 she released an EP on Studio Barnhus together with artist Your Planet Is Next. KABLAM’s music is characterized by detailed rhythms, found sounds, sampledelia and sensory experiences. Her music has been described as sonic maximalism and “stonkcore”. KABLAM both DJs and plays live, and has performed in venues such as Berghain, Sonic Acts, ALL Club Shanghai, Circus Tokyo, Left Bank Tbilisi, Nrmal Festival Mexico and many more.

Your Planet Is Next:

Your Planet Is Next surfaced in 2014 with his first release being a limited edition cassette tape. A favourite reoccurring format suiting his musical style perfectly – dirty, quirky and analogue, heavily acid infused and almost always lined with YPIN’s signature characteristic dry vocals, full of humor yet often sprung out of deep contemplation. Your Planet Is Next is without a doubt a live artist and all of the above mentioned is contained in his shows. YPIN brings his most favoured gear of the hour and sometimes with the help of a mic he delivers ironic deadpan words of truth and love on top of his extremely catchy oddball club music (do not forget this is the guy who did a cover of Cher’s “Believe”). What could suit an artist better who feels the most comfortable describing himself as “a failed pop star”? Your Planet Is Next is a regular on renowned Swedish label Studio Barnhus and has released EP’s on Klasse Wrecks and Opal Tapes among others (often these carry Wretman’s own distinct artwork). Six full-length YPIN albums have been released to date. His latest release was the EP “Urban Man XL” released on Mexican label Terminal. YPIN also produces under the moniker Sexazoid (releasing on Born Free), and belongs to the duos Osynlig Fetma (with Dennis Vera), Paradise Alley (with Pedrodollar), Excellent Security (with Acronym) and Computer Station (with KABLAM).
